Bo Burton was a confident,friendly,quick-whitted man who commanded respect. He always had a smile on his face and a funny story to tell. He will be greatly missed. May the Lord watch over his family and help to ease their pain, and may the Lord also watch over all our firefighter pilots as they watch over us.

Bo Burton was my uncle that I, unfortunately, did not get to know very well. I must say that I am very proud that he was my uncle and proud of all his accomplishments in the Army and with the Div of Forestry. I can see that he was loved my many people. My heart goes out to all of those who were close to him, especially Jorn and Justin.

I did not know Bo personally, but I knew of his work. I am a firefighter in the area where he worked, and he made our jobs much easier. Whenever I would spot a DOF helicopter, I would always pause, stop and point out the "bambi bucket" to whoever happened to be nearby. Now, whenever I see one, I will think of Bo and the dedication that he had.

My most heartfelt thoughts & prayers are with George's family and his many friends. Bo is the second good friend and fellow firefighter that I have lost in the line of duty and I pray each and every day that there will never be another. Bo's dedication to duty and love of flying were second to none. The only comfort that I find in this tragedy is that Bo died doing what he loved. We will all miss you dear friend. John K. To his two sons, other family members, and others of us who knew, loved and worked with Bo, we offer our sympathy. No doubt his committment to service, both in the military for his nation and as a firefighter for the people of Florida, will remain in our hearts forever as a testamony to the sacrifice he and so many others have made in the past. Bo Burton was a very dedicated pilot who loved what he was doing. This was evident each October when he would fly the DOF helicopter down to Perry for our Florida Forestry Festival. Young and old alike enjoyed the experience of sitting in a helicopter and asking Bo questions that he readily answered. We heard comments like "cool" and "awesome" from the vistors who learned about one of the methods that we use in our firefighting efforts. Bo will truly be missed as a part of our firefighting family and my condolences go to his family, friends, and co-workers.
