Condolences and Reflections for

"Another Hero gone to Heaven way too soon..."

I only met Chuckie once.. that's how I knew him... Chuckie. The first thing I noticed about him was 'wow.. he's really tall.' And his smile. He had this overwhelmingly warm smile. It made you just want to know him. When Chrishna told me about the accident I didn't know what to think. She told me a lot about him. She told me about the time he rolled the truck on Banducci. And when someone showed up he said that he found Chuck at the bottom, completley unscathed, looking for something. And when he asked, Chuck said, "My Bible..
I gotta find my Bible." She told me about the time he borrowed Rich's shoes for an interview at the fire station and wore them even though they were too small and hurt his feet. She told me that Rich has those shoes sitting in his office now. I really wish I had a chance to know him and love him as much as everyone else around him did. While he is missed desperatley here on earth, there's intense comfort in knowing that right now, he is in thebeloved arms of his Saviour.

Chuck was an up and coming young man who loved Christ. He shared this love that Christ has given him to many people. He hung out with my boys Dan and Jake. He will be missed greatly by us. His loss to Jeanette and Cara hurts the Smith family as well.

We miss Chuck daily in our family. He is such a part of our family memories, a best friend to our kids, and another son to John and I. Can't wait to see him again in heaven, and see that big, slow grin appear on his face. We'll miss him at every occasion in the future. Chuck, we're glad you're with Jesus, but we miss you down here alot! We love you always! the Hayes gang

I have known Chuck for about seven years, attending school with him at COBCS. It is funny to look back on our times together because on the outside, we looked like adversaries. Since we were the two biggest guys in our school, we could never play on the same team in sports during recess. We always clashed, and i have scars to prove it. Inside, I loved the guy to pieces. He brought a sense of humor and joy to our school that was distinctly CHUCK.He was always around to make life interesting and i loved him for that. Now he is standing exalting God and serving the most rewarding purpose possible in existence.God bless you my friend!!

Anyone that new Chuck, know's that he is saved, and it such a great relief to know that we will be with him again some day. Chuck was on my soccer team, and he was a very kind and loving person. Our hearts go out to the Wallace family. We loved Chuck. We were neighbors in Stallion Springs for 5 years. Chuck became good friends of our children, Sarah and Aaron. Chuck and Aaron were especially close, and Chuck was such a positive influence on Aaron. We will never forget his wonderful smile and out going personality. We were blessed to have known him. Mark, Jeanette, and Cara, we will keep you in our prayers. Our deepest sympathy, the Goss Family

Our prayers are with Mark, Jeanette, Cara, and Chuck's bigger family at Country Oaks Baptist Church. Chuck's life was precious to us but especially to God. We too, will miss him but for only a little while and then we will see him again. A great promise from a loving God for all who know Christ as Lord and Savior. Until then, we'll continue to miss him and take comfort in knowing exactly where and with who he is with.

I only knew Chuck for a short while, as he trained with us to complete a marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I was impressed by his sincerity and his desire to do well in everything he attempted. I am sure that he is doing the marathon, but in a far better place than where we run on earth. "Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. (Is. 40:31) May the Lord be with you and bless you.

Isaiah 57:1&2 The righteous man perishes, and no man takes it to heart: And devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from evil, He enters into peace: They rest in their beds, Each one who walked in his upright way. This passage of scripture has given me comfort in the loss of loved ones when I could not understand why God took them home as they were doing work for Him. It was a blessing to be with Chuck in the helicopter and praying for him. Little did I realize at the time that he was a child of the King. I rejoyced when I was told that he knew the Lord as his Savior. Hearing from other people about his life has touched me in a profound way. Our prayers are for his parents and family. I would like to extend our most sincere sympathy to the Wallace Family in this time of sorrow. We came home from work just as they were towing the vechiles away and I immediatley felt my heart break and tears flow. I don't know what it's like to lose a child, but I do know what it's like to lose a father and sister. I have learn to live with it,but the wound is always there. I do have comfort in knowing that they are wrapped forever in God's arms as is Chuck now. I know someday I will have them wrapped in my arms again as you will find Chucks arms too. God Bless your family!

Mark, Jeanette and Cara, I can't begin to tell you how deeply this affected me. I didn't know Chuck, but knowing Jeanette, I knew he must be quite a guy. I grieve for you as a mother myself, and only hope that I can be of some comfort to you in some way. My family will continue praying for your family and ask God to give you the comfort only He can. I love you...

I am so terribly sorry to hear about Chuck. My son Alex was Chucks Honored Teammate for the Portland Marathon. Chuck was a great guy, who was very nice to Alex when they met. We were all looking forward to the training together and becoming a "Team". Chuck and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

At the crucifixion of Jesus, God for a moment in time, stood and watched as Jesus was spat upon, laughed at and killed. The Father had to say good-bye to his Son and listen to his deep cry of despair on the cross as Jesus was murdered. The angels watched and waited for a command from the Father to save Jesus from this torturous death, but it never came. The Son, in so much torment and pain was not able to feel the comfort of his Father’s hands but just as the Father had determined this moment, Jesus willingly gave up his life for us. The Father gave us the very best He had to offer, His only Son, so that we may live forever. The victory of Jesus’ resurrection gives hope to all of us who call upon the name of Lord. My grief over one of my most precious treasures on earth, my son Chuck, is too much for my heart to bear but then I remember what God did on the cross and I am grateful that God gave me living proof of his love and care. Thank you all for your time and the love you devoted to my son. 1 John 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

My prayers and thoughts are with your family. I didn't get the chance to know Chuck very well, but the fact that he had committed to running a marathon to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society along with the rest of us, let me know that he was caring young man who wanted to help others. He was know to me for a very short while, but remembered forever. May the Lord bless you and bring you strength to endure such a hard monent in life.

Wendy and I felt like we lost a son. Chuck was very special to us, and I especially enjoyed his visits...even if it was to only borrow my undersized black shoes. He was always a very good person to have around school - a good example, a good student, and an example to the younger people. Though he 'chucked' someof us more than once, it was always in fun. His heart was generous and kind, and as far as we could see (which was not nearly as far as God could see) Chuck was on his way to be a great firefughting Christian. I praise the reaction of his friends and family to what seems an unexplainable death. May God help all of us as we work through the grieving and resolution. Won't it be really wonderful, AND FUN, to see him again? What a day that wil be! All of our prayers go out to those still in deep grief. May God give you all comfort and peace.

Chuckles was a very special light in our lives and Jim and I were so very blessed to have been a part of his life. We will miss cutting wood with him and I will especially miss cooking and trying to fill those long legs of his. We find comfort in that Chuckles is with the Lord and we know we will see him again one day. No more pain or sorrow. Our heartfelt prayers are with Jeanette, Cara, Mark, Dober, Virginia and all of his friends and co-workers. There are sure a bunch of us that got "CHUCKED".
