For my son...

I saw the Eagle flying by,
Eagle, Eagle, high in the sky...

You fly alone with majestic grace,
Soaring, soaring, to find your place...

I hear the Eagle high in the sky,
Screaming, screaming, the Eagles cry...

There is an answer to your cry,
Eagle, Eagle, now two in the sky...

In giant circles the wind you ride,
Climbing, climbing, a mate by your side...

Broad wings dip toward Mother Earth,
Looking, looking, at the place of your birth...

One Eagle turns spreading wings toward the sun,
Climbing, climbing, Eagles stay here is done...

His Journey has just begun...

Don't think of him as gone away,
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing,
that we could know, today,
how nothing but our sadness,
can really pass away.

And think of him as living,
in the hearts of those he touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost,
and he was loved so much.

We thought of you with Love today...

We thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
and the day before that too.

We think of you with every silence,
we often speak your name.
All we have now are memories
and your pictures in a frame.

Your memories are our keepsakes
with which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
we have you in our heart.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone.
A part of us went with you
the day he called you home.

I pray that I may live to fish.......
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.
