MY first time when I met Mike was when my mom Beth Senn who at the time was the manager of Yuba City Lyons. I can remember the first thing she said about him was watch out for this guy. A few years later I worked with Mike a Yuba City Lyons It was one of the best times I had working he made things so much fun and always kept us laughing, boy he thought he was such the man. I well never forget that smile of his.

On the Sunday before the tragic murder of my best friend and co worker Mike He had called me and ask me not to leave the resaurant in Yuba City because he wanted to say goodbye to me. I was going on vacation to Florida, my daughter had a baby. I asked Mike about what time he would leave Grass Valley, he said about 1:30am. Before he hung up the phone, he said I love you sweetie, I answered, Ilove you too buddy. I waited that night for him at the store but he took longer than expected so I left. I will never forget my last conversation with him. I loved Mike very much, so did my husband Erick and all my fiends in Yuba City Lyons. My condolences to Trish, to his Mother and to his children. We will always remember and miss Mike, ALWAYS

I just want everyone to know that I am so sorry to hear of your losses and will include you & your families in my prayers. I lived in Lake Wildwood 17 years ago when I was in Junior high, and have gone up there to visit every few years, so I'm familiar with the area. I just can't believe that such a tragic thing has happened to such a beautiful area. I pray that you find peace in knowing that your loved ones are in a better place. One thing that you might want to check out is a book by Dr. James Dobson entitled "When God Doesn't Make Sense". You can order the book or the cassette tape off of the following website: Family.org. This may help you in your time of grieving...it helped me when my father-in-law passed away last year. God Bless!

I have just returned from a retreat where we heard of a young woman, who died in a car accident at the age of 17. Her mother, after the initial shock and grief, was able to find a deep connection to the daughter. She feels she is around her and helps her to go on with her life ever since. I am expressing the hope that the families of the three victims of this terrible tragedy will also find such comfort after the first shock and grief has subsided. With love, Magdalene.

My grief and regards are with all of the families involved in this stunning loss, and I hope that you can all hold to your hope and faith in the lives that are celebrated here. Laura Wilcox was not only a gift to your community, but to our Haverford community, and to me in my life. She will be missed and will not fade from my mind as one of the most remarkable women I have ever had the blessing to know. May she live in all of us, in hope, spunk, and joy to be alive. Best, Joanna

I would just like to send out my deepest condolences towards all of those effecte by these events. I was not fortunate enough to know these people myself. So i feel for all of those who had them ripped from there lives. I only ask that all of us remember what they all would want from each and everyone of us and hope we all can thank a certain Mr Kent Thorpe for making the right decision as hard as it could be in turning over his own brother. Thank you to all and may we all learn and please make this a better place.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the three wonderful people who had to die by the bullet of a poor, insane man. We will never understand why this had to happen. But we can be sure that what good they did in their life will never be lost. While they lived, they made the world a better place. This can never be lost.

To all the families please know that our family and friends send their prayers, and keep you in their thoughts. While my family and I did not know any of the victims directly my brother was good friends with Laura. While it will not change what happened, my friends and I are setting up a gun control club at the high school where I am a freshmen. We hope to fight for gun control to prevent such a thing from ever happening again. We are also creating the club to remember those killed last week. Once again to all the families, we are sorry for your losses, and you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts are with all of the families of the victims. Not a day goes by that we don't think about what happened and shed a few more tears. This has truly affected this entire county and has brought us closer. Take the time to show your loved ones how much you care.

Our family recently moved from the Grass Valley area. In the two years of living there, I came to get aquainted with some of the staff at the Mental Health Dept, while taking my son for counseling. One of the familar faces was that of Laura Wilcox. She was a very cheerful, and helpful girl. She was the first face you would see upon walking through the door. There are no words that can soften the pain the family and loved ones will endure for quite some time. I only hope that time, faith, and prayers will help you to find peace in your healing process. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Krista Glassgow This poem was my way of working through the passing of my mother-in-law this last summer... A Soul's Touch People touch our lives in many ways... Some it is a casual glance, followed by an encouraging smile. Some it is through heartache and pain, joy, as well as exhilaration, summed up in a lifetime of memories. Whether we touch each others life for a short time, or stay for a lifetime, our souls touch is Everlasting. When we give from the heart, we give from the soul. When we give from the soul, we give with love. When we give with love, our touch is Everlasting. God has bestowed us with beauty everywhere we look... Look to the east upon the sunrising, you see the red and orange rays canvassed against the golden open sky. Look to the west upon the sun setting, you see, yet again, the red and orange rays canvassed against the golden open sky. Such as the day begins and ends with light shooting in all directions for all the world to see, feel, and enjoy it's beauty... So too does the light of our lives, shoot out in all directions... In the beginning as in the end, the light of our lives, the light of life, the light of Jesus Christ is EVERLASTING.

I, like most of the citizens of Nevada County, was shocked by the henious events that unfolded on that unforgetable dark and tragic day. All of my love and prayers go out to the families left behind. I hope that somehow you can all muster the strength to carry on and keep the memories alive of those that you have lost. To Laura's family; My younger sister and her friends went to school with your daughter and remembered her very fondly. She sounded like an extremely motivated, outgoing, and compassionate young lady. I imagine she would want you all to carry on in your own lives and allow God to comfort your pain. I am so sorry for all of the families losses. May you find some comfort in knowing that Nevada County could never forget your loved ones.

Dear Margie, Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family, especially the children. When we realized it was your son, Mark, that was the manager at Lyons, well, we were saddened to say the least. I met your son briefly one day at the school. It was one of the many times he came to help you out. I think it was the last day of school a couple of years ago. At any rate, you could clearly see the love and admiration between the two of you. Once again, you and your family will be in our prayers everyday. The Glassgow Family

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those that lost thier lives. God be with you all. Time will help. Thank you to Mr.Thorpe's brother for doing the right thing, he is a true hero. Turning in his brother must have been one of the most difficult decisions of his life, and I will thank God every day for the rest of my life that he honored his badge, and saved all of us nightmares the night his brother committed the most heinous of crimes.

I am just so sorry that this terrible event has occured in your lives. I for one am going to be more thankful for all that I have, to be kinder to those in need, to take pause before anger or judgement and to remember everyday just how precious our lives are and to give more care to those around me whether I know them or not. God bless you. Take care... and find the rainbows.

My deepest sympathies to all involved including the entire Nevada City/Grass Valley area. I have read all the stories concerning how Pearlie was such beautiful lady, and how much Mark's family meant to him, and about all that Laura had to live for. I can only say how sorry I am for the families, friends, and co-workers of these three beautiful people. The community and the human race have lost a lot. I hope this site can provide some comfort.
